Meet our Founders
Co-FOUNDER & CEO
Sumaira Beg
I bring 15 years of experience in education with a strong background in teaching, school leadership, administration, and community engagement to Qalam Academy.
My passion is creating a nurturing and academically strong environment where faith, character, and knowledge grow together.
As Co-Founder and CEO, I am committed to building Qalam Academy with excellence, integrity, and Amanah, while creating a school community where every child is known, valued, and inspired to succeed.
Co-FOUNDER & CFO
Ustadah Amina Rodríguez
With 10 years of experience teaching Islam and the Qur’an, I bring a deep passion for Islamic education, youth development, and community building to our school.
I will lead the Islamic Studies and Arabic Department, with a particular love for teaching young people and helping them build a genuine connection with their faith.
I believe teaching Islam and the Qur’an is one of the greatest responsibilities we can have—not only must we teach it, but we must inspire children to love it and carry it with them throughout their lives.
Co-FOUNDER & Administrator
Nisa Khan
With 15 years of administrative experience in the educational field, I have developed strong skills in office administration, communication, organization, coordination, and supporting students, staff, and parents.
I believe in providing a warm and welcoming environment and encouraging students to be the best versions of themselves.
My goal is to help build a school environment where students develop knowledge, confidence, good character, and a strong connection to their faith.

Leadership at a Young Age:
Developing the skills and confidence for students to lead in an ethical and Prophetic manner. We build leadership into everyday learning, giving students opportunities through the daily lessons and activities to make decisions, take responsibility, work with others and grow in confidence from an early age.
Strong Parent-School Partnership:
We strongly believe children succeed when families and schools work together. Through open communication, meaningful involvement, shared commitment to our children, we create a supportive community where every child feels known, valued, and encouraged to grow.
